Combining the waste-fighting measures of Lean practices, with the variation and defect-reducing techniques of Six Sigma, the Certificate in Lean Six Sigma can help you eliminate the root causes of defects and waste to make business operations more effective and efficient. The certificate is comprised of two required courses and one elective, which enables you to gain the Lean Six Sigma foundational knowledge while also adding an elective that customizes your learning experience and helps you reach your unique education goals.

The program also allows you to apply your learned knowledge throughout the courses with simulated projects to help you successfully practice Lean Six Sigma outside the classroom. These projects are critical pieces of the certificate and require that students have experience in Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet tool.

According to the American Society for Quality, certified Six Sigma Black Belts with three years of experience make an average salary of $106,000 per year compared to those without certification, who make approximately $94,000 (national average).
